Queen’s Park are in advanced talks with former St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson about the ex-Scotland defender becoming their new manager.
The Championship club hope to be able to make an announcement in the early part of this week.
Robin Veldman left Queen’s Park in early December, with Paul Nuijten overseeing the past five matches.
Davidson, 47, lost his job at McDiarmid Park last April after almost three years in charge.
In a remarkable debut season in 2020-21, he steered Saints to a Scottish Cup and League Cup double.
Davidson was set to take charge of Dundee in May after holding talks with the newly promoted club but changed his mind.
Friday’s 2-1 win against Dunfermline Athletic was the Spiders’ first league victory since August, with the team sitting ninth in the table on the same points as Arbroath at the bottom.
