Abbi Aitken-Drummond and Olivia Bell have been named in Scotland’s first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup squad, with head coach Craig Wallace claiming his side’s “possibilities are endless” at the tournament in October.
North West Thunder bowler Bell and Carlton all-rounder Aitken-Drummond, who was Scotland captain for seven years until 2018, join 13 players who featured in the successful qualifying tournament at the start of the summer.
But there is no place for Nayma Sheikh despite the 18-year-old taking four wickets against the Netherlands in August.
“I am so excited about what lies ahead,” Wallace said. “If we behave and play the way we have done during the last year, who knows what can happen at the World Cup? We could win as many games as we want to.
“The players play a great brand of cricket and have so much belief in themselves, so the possibilities are limitless really.”
