Sale Sharks have signed Tonga international full-back Telusa Veainu from Stade Francais on a one-year deal.
Veainu joined the French side in 2020 after five years in the Premiership with Leicester Tigers.
The 32-year-old scored 32 tries in 79 appearances at Leicester and has also played in Australia and New Zealand.
Sale have also announced that Coenie Oosthuizen will leave the club to return to South Africa and re-join United Rugby Championship side Sharks.
On joining the Premiership Rugby finalists, Veainu said: “I can’t wait to come over to Manchester and get started.
“Manu Tuilagi is one of my closest friends and every time I speak to him, he talks so passionately about the environment at Sale.”
Oosthuizen, 34, joined the club from Sharks in 2019 and went on to make 94 appearances.
The Springbok appeared 16 times for Sale this season, helping them to their first Premiership final since 2006.
“Since he arrived, Coenie has been a massive part of this team,” boss Alex Sanderson told the club website.
“On the field he’s a fantastic player, but off it, he’s been a real leader for us in what is a young squad.”
Oosthuizen made his debut for South Africa in 2012 and has won 30 international caps.
He played in Super Rugby with the Cheetahs and Sharks before joining Sale alongside a contingent of South African players, including Faf de Klerk, Rob du Preez, Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Akker van der Merwe.
