Manchester City have confirmed defender Alanna Kennedy is set to leave the club on a permanent basis.
The Australia international, 30, joined City from Tottenham Hotspur in 2021 and has made 64 appearances for the club in that time.
Kennedy has featured 15 times for City this season but she was a notable absentee from squad that lost 4-2 to rivals Manchester United on Sunday.
City, who initially said Kennedy was joining NWSL side Angel City before deleting the post on X, said the defender’s departure was subject to international clearance.
“Manchester has been my home for the past three and a half years and I am leaving with a lot of amazing memories,” Kennedy wrote on Instagram.
“I’ve had some real career highlights playing for this team and made some friends for life. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of those who supported me during my time here.
“It has been a privilege to play alongside you all and I wish you all of the continued success for the rest of the season and beyond.”
Kennedy has 131 caps for Australia and has scored 11 times during her international career.
