The game’s first try came when Jack O’Donoghue crashed over from a line-out maul on 33 minutes.
Hendrikse would kick another three points before half time but, in the final play before the turn, Munster were awarded a penalty try when Simon Zebo was tackled without the ball. Marius Louw was sent to the sin bin for the incident.
Shane Daly scored in the corner off a Gavin Coombes pass with 32 minutes remaining but the Lions struck back through replacement hooker PJ Botha.
Munster would ensure a maximum return through Coombes’ try with the last play of the game.
