The distance is not alien to Reekie, who until recently trained with world silver medallist and fellow Scot Laura Muir, who won 1500m Olympic silver in 2021.
A final decision on whether to try for the Europeans in Italy will be made after talks with coach Jon Bigg, his wife Sally Gunnell and British Athletics as they target a place at the Olympics in Paris.
Reekie had mixed emotions about her silver at the weekend – joy at securing that first major medal while disappointed at falling short of winning in front of her home crowd.
However, she saw it as a reward for her new training regime under Bigg.
“You do go through tough times,” she added. “This time last year I was lost and going to training was a chore.
“I am enjoying it again and I’m here a different athlete and now a medallist at a global champs.”
