Worcestershire pace bowler Adam Finch has signed a new contract to the end of the 2027 season.
The 23-year-old has taken 89 wickets for the club in all formats since making his first-team debut in 2019.
Finch, whose previous deal was due to expire this summer, missed the second half of last season with a back injury.
“I want to become a senior leader of the attack, and hope that I can develop some similar characteristics to Joe Leach,” he told the club website.
“To sign for four years shows the faith and belief I have in Worcestershire and an indication that they feel I can play a significant role if I continue to develop.”
The Pears will play in Division One of the County Championship following promotion in 2023, and start the campaign on 5 April with a cross-border derby against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
“We see him as someone having the potential to play a big role for us in the years to come,” said chief executive Ashley Giles.
“Adam is yet another example of someone who has come through the academy and is now beginning to make big strides and I know he is relishing the challenge of Division One cricket that lies ahead this summer.”
