Winger Tajon Buchanan has joined Inter Milan from Club Brugge, and is set to become the first Canadian to play in Serie A, Italy’s top division.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal for a reported fee of seven million euros (£6.02m).
Buchanan has won 35 caps for Canada and started all three of his country’s group games at the 2022 World Cup.
“I’m really proud to be the first Canadian to play in the Italian league, it’s a great achievement,” he said.
“I’ve been following Inter for a long time, it’s a team I see myself in, I’m really excited about what awaits me.”
Inter started 2024 top of Serie A and host Hellas Verona in their next game on Saturday (11:30 GMT).
