Min Woo Lee held on to win his home Australian PGA Championship for the first time in Brisbane.
The 25-year-old Australian let slip a three-shot overnight lead thanks to a bogey-par start as Japan’s Rikuya Hoshino drew level with two birdies.
Lee responded with three birdies and a chip-in eagle from 55 yards at the ninth in a three-under-par round of 68 that left him 20 under.
Hoshino carded seven successive pars to finish three shots behind.
“I made it interesting early on and through the middle but I ended up hanging on and I’m really proud,” said Lee.
“Rikuya’s a really good player and he kept knocking on the door, but it was exactly the same as my last win. My playing partner just kept coming, so I knew I needed to keep playing well and do my thing.
“I’m really proud how I made some up-and-downs and some putts.”
Marc Leishman carded a final-round 64 to finish one shot behind Hoshino in third at the Royal Queensland Golf Club, while fellow Australian Curtis Luck was fourth.
Chile’s Joaquin Niemann shot a hole-in-one at the par-three fourth in a round of 67 that secured fifth place.
