Bristol Bears have signed former Jersey Reds tight-head prop Stevie Longwell as injury cover with immediate effect.
The 33-year-old played in three Premiership Rugby Cup games this season before the Reds folded due to financial problems.
He signed for United Rugby Championship side Zebre in October but had yet to play a game for the Italian side.
“Stevie was a key part of Jersey’s title-winning campaign in 2022-23,” said Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam.
“We’re pleased to bring in a player of his experience and calibre to bolster our front row ranks.
“We’re entering an intense block of back-to-back fixtures now right through until the New Year, so depth in the front row will be important during this time.”
