Sydney Sixers are waiting to find out how long Alyssa Healy could be sidelined for after the wicketkeeper had an operation on her hand.
Healy had the surgery after an accident at home and was a late withdrawal from her side’s Women’s Big Bash League game against Sydney Thunder on Sunday.
She later posted a picture on social media of her left hand in a bandage.
“Appreciate all the love. Am at home watching the girls get it done,” wrote the Australia international.
Sixers captain Ellyse Perry, speaking before the game against the Thunder, said Healy injured her hand in a “pretty nasty accident”.
“No further details of the accident or injury are clear at this time, with further details to be communicated in due course,” said a Sixers statement.
“She has not been replaced on the Sixers’ roster.”
Following the game against Thunder, the Sixers have 12 group games left and any possible games in the knockout stages.
